The Connection
As a pre-med student, member of FLP, SSS student, APO active member, member of Hu'i O Hawai'i, and work study student for the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions OASA office, it is really difficult to balance it all out. Sometimes I do wish that I could have extra time to do everything, especially my studies. I'm still figuring out how to correctly balance my life between school work, work, organizations, and leadership positions. This truly is a struggle for a college student. However, I know it is possible though. One way to accomplish this goal is to set out my priorities. It is important to distinguish what is important at the moment and what can be held off for later.
Everything that I had learned in FLP will always be remember. I can always look back to my good times in FLP. FLP gave me the guidance and hope I needed for college. I will always hold onto my FLP journal and it will help me through college and whatever it throws at me. It give me the strength and confidence I need to become an effective leader. Not only that, but it will help remind myself about my values and faith.
I have learned that with a positive attitude, way of thinking, and decision-making, I can make a difference in my environment. FLP has taught me valuable principles about college, the real-world, and my own life. Through FLP, I am now capable of taking things into my own hands. After graduating from this program, I hope to absorb all the knowledge and ethics I gain to become an effective leader on and off campus. I hope to hold leadership positions on campus in order to gin some leadership experiences, and use what I learned in FLP into action.
