Mission Statement
My mission statement: I will strive to display kindness, honesty, generosity, confidence, and composure by following this motto "To whom much is given, much is expected." I will seek to learn and gain the fundamental values that Creighton has to offer me, and be motivated and diligent in order to achieve my goals, push my limits, and follow my passions. My relationships with the people that I love will always be prioritized, and I will continue to keep them in my life as my inspiration. I must work hard and be the best person I can to make them proud. I can achieve all things through my love and faith in God.
While re-reading this mission statement that I set for myself at the beginning of the year, I realize that I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to accomplish in my life. I admit that college can be difficult and stressful, but I was warn about the things that college will throw at you. However, I was challenged by others, including myself, to think more deeply about what my life is about, what is the meaning of my life's purpose, and how I can work with others. I have joined organizations and participated in activities on campus that have helped me focus on my passions and goals. Using what I have learned in the Freshman Leadership Program has helped me become an effective leader and successful individual. As of right now, I feel pretty content with my personal statement and the ideas that I originally had. However, I realized that something was missing. I wanted to encourage and inspire others to motivate themselves and strive for success. Including a statement about encouraging and challenging others to achieve their goals and discover more about themselves will satisfy my personal statement. I will hold onto my personal mission statement with me throughout my years at Creighton because it will remind me about my values, priorities, goals, and most importantly, about myself.
