Our First Night Together as a Floor
Our first night together as a floor was truly memorable. This was the night where we all met each other for the first time. I can remember this night just by closing my eyes. Our amazing RAs, Katie and Benji, came up with ice breaker activities for the flp'ers to get to know each other. The one activity that I can remember that we all had fun doing, even though it was weird at first, was dancing the wobble together as a floor. We all quickly clicked and enjoyed each other's company even on the first night.
Living on the Floor
Living on K9 will be an experience I will never forget. Having the people you enjoy being with living on the same floor as you is great because you get to see them all the time! There are so many things that can happen on the floor, but you just never know what it is. People are scootering from one end of the hall to the other, watching the Super Bowl together, or just chilling in the NZ. So many things you will see and hear, especially at the most random times. The laughter, support, and trust among the floor are things that I will miss the most next year. I will miss seeing everyone's faces in the NZ once our freshman year is over.

FLP Fall Retreat
An activity that was meant to bring us together as a family was the Freshmen Leadership Program Retreat. I am originally not a big fanatic of retreats. I am not very good at opening up to people and expressing my feelings and thoughts. But towards the end of the retreat, I surprised myself with how I engaged I was. We did many activities to get us involved in the retreat such as writing our traits on a piece of paper, writing complimentary messages to our floor-mates, and etc. However, there was one activity that mainly made me interact more with my fellow flp’ers; it was a circle bonding activity, which lasted for seven and a half hours. What everyone (both flp’ers and executives) had to do was share a story within the circle. At first, I was really scared when the candle will arrive at me because I didn’t know what to say or how to say it. Once it got to me my heart was beating quite fast, but I completely said all of the thoughts that were running through my mind. I felt a bit of relieved after letting it all out. It was really touching hearing everyone’s stories, and I was able to learn something about each of them. It really opened my eyes to who I was living with. I was really proud of everyone that was willing to share their stories. I'm glad that I made the best out of the retreat because it was a great experience with my fellow flp'ers.
